Do your students struggle to make significant changes to their writing? Is it hard for them to see errors in their drafts once they've finished?

Use these resources to support and motivate even your reluctant writers in revising and editing their writing!

The "I can" revising and editing posters will be a great visual addition to your minilessons. The kid-friendly mentor texts will give you relevant samples to use to model revision and editing.

Your students will get the support they need from the strategy cardsrubrics and checklists, and an interactive editing flip book!

The Revising and Editing Table materials will help you set up a place in your classroom where students work together to revise and edit their work - without needing your direct supervision.

Not only will this toolkit help your students revise and edit independently, but the materials will also help you cut down on your planning time!

These resources can be used to supplement any writing program, including my K-2 writing workshop units.

Here's a detailed description of what's included:

Revising and Editing Posters:
136 different “I Can” statement posters for various revising and editing skills. You can use these posters as the basis for minilessons, to display your daily learning objectives, and/or to create a revising and editing bulletin board in your classroom.

Revising and Editing Strategy Cards:
136 “I Can” statement strategy cards for various revising and editing skills. These strategies match the posters described above and can be used to have students create personal strategy rings to use as they write independently.

These mentor texts are included in different formats - each one is provided with and without different types of mistakes that you can teach students to correct. FAQ

My file isn’t printing correctly. How do I fix this?

The vast majority of printing problems can be fixed with the “Print as Image” solution in Adobe Reader! Learn more about how to do that here HERE.

Where can I learn more about your literacy products and how to use them?

We have a free catalog that walks you through my main resources. It can help you decide which resources are right for you and your students! You can grab the catalog HERE.

I teach in a split-grade class (i.e. 1st and 2nd). How should I select products for my students?

Alison always recommends getting the lower of the two grade levels. So if you teach in a 1st and 2nd grade class, get a 1st grade version. You can always differentiate in small groups or 1:1 to challenge your more advanced students!

I teach in Canada and am looking to buy some of your literacy products. How does the Canadian curriculum align to the U.S. curriculum?

Our Canadian customers tell us that it’s best to purchase one grade level down. If you teach first grade, for example, try a Kindergarten product. You can also check the preview file of any resource in our TpT store to see example lessons to help you make your decision!

These games are great! I love that there is an assessment with it so I can really see what skills my students need more practice with. Once they learn the games they are able to do them independently as well.

I used this resource when a couple of my students picked decoding multisyllabic words as their goal. This really allowed them to work on their goal independently! I loved that they were able to own their learning.

My students love these games for small groups, and once some of them are able to play them independently, they are able to teach others! Great academic skill review that is fun for them!
